ADVERTISING TREND

I was watching Channel [V] today morning and they were showing a good
song(Film is already released 2 years ago).Suddenly in beetween the song they flashed the screenshot of an upcoming movie.And the good thing is they flashed it twice.Just want to know whether it was just a mistake or a new method of advertising.If it's a new method of advertising then the guy who got this idea is really great and i think it will work.
